Krakauer’s attitude toward McCandless Quote 4

      "The boy made some mistakes on the Stampede Trail, but confusing a caribou with a moose wasn't among them."

  1. Krakauer thinks that McCandless did make some mistakes while on his adventure. This shows that Krakauer doesn't feel like McCandless was perfect. He had many mistakes and one of them was the one that killed him. Many people at first thought that McCandless was mixed up about the animal that he killed, but Krakauer knows that McCandless wouldn't make that kind of simple mistake. McCandless was intelligent and knew what region he was in and what kind of plants and animals lived there. Krakauer agrees with the fact that McCandless had a pretty good idea about what he was doing.
